It is so easy to get so caught up in nuances. My endocrinologist actually recommended I get an ultrasound of my thyroid - he's never done that before. So I had it done today and it seemed like the tech who did it took a million pictures and measured things over and over with the computer. What the heck was she measuring? Were they tumors??? I didn't ask. I knews she wasn't supposed to tell me. Oh god, I just wish my prompt endocrinologist would be prompt and call me with the results. I'm calling him tomorrow if he doesn't call me.
Otherwise I'm forging ahead with my diet. I'm back on the Weight Watchers Momentum/Flex plan. As you know I completely gave up on the Points Plus. What a scam. I mean, honestly, how can they expect someone who had a ton of weight to lose to have the same daily point allowance as someone who had 20 lbs to lose. It just doesn't make sense. And I've read a ton on the internet about other people like me who didn't lose or even gained on the new plan. How could Weight Watchers overlook us? I have 21 daily points on the old plan. Just for grins I figured out how much I ate yesterday in both plans. It was 21 points with the old plan and something like 24 points with the new Points Plus plan. Duh. The new Points Plus plan thinks I should eat 29 points a day which is way more.
Anyway I'm still doing the Wendie Plan because I can hardly live on 21 points a day, day after day. So today I got more points and tomorrow I'll get less. And Thursday - big day! Yummm!
Today too was a good exercise day. I took a TKD class (shortened because of the ultrasound) and I went jogging. I'm up to 20 minutes. This is huge for me since I haven't run in 15 years. Barefoot running seems to be working for me although it causes my left calf muscle to hurt a bit. But no major knee problems which is AWESOME!
One of my favorite clients, Dave, called today and told me that his wife, Eileen, has inoperable stage 4 ovarian cancer. I really like Eileen and feel so sad for the whole family. Life is so so unfair.
I need to sleep. Good night.

ReplyDeletethe technician uses "calipers' to measure the size of the lobes and thickness of the isthmus, therefore even for normal thyroid there will be at least seven measurements or 14 clicks. wne the nodule is found the doppler color test is used to see if the blood flow presnt in the nodule.
Hypothyroid is a serious issue but you can survive it together with the help of natural bovine thyroid. Natural desiccated thyroid can help balance your hormone levels.
